by Brian Woodman Jr. on 08/11/20

The Mohegan Sun Arena hosted Bellator 243 on August 6. The main event was a much-anticipated rematch between lightweights Michael Chandler (21-5) and Ben Henderson (28-9) that had originally been scheduled for June 6 in Chicago. Chandler knocked out Henderson at 2:09 in the first round. Henderson previously lost to Chandler by split decision during Bellator 165.

Also on the main card;

Timothy Johnson (14-6) punched his way to a TKO win over  Matt Mitrione (13-8, with one no contest) at 3:14 in the first round of the heavyweight co-main event.

Myles Jury (19-5) earned a win by split decision over Georgi Karakhanyan (21-10-1, with one no contest). The judges scored the lightweight bout 30-27, 27-30 and 29-28.

Sabah Homasi (14-8) earned an unanimous decision over Curtis Millender (18-6). All three judges scored the contracted 175-pound fight 29-28.

The preliminary card opened with a middleweight bout between Dalton Rosta (3-0) and Mark Gardner (1-2). Ringside officials examined a cut over Gardner's eye after the end of the first round and waved the fight off. Rosta won by TKO.

Charlie Campbell (2-1) earned a TKO victory over fellow lightweight Nainoa Dung (3-2) at 1:42 in the second round. Campbell generally dominated the first round, which the referee briefly stopped after an illegal kick. Campbell brought Dung to the ground with a lower leg kick and threw more leg kicks, which prompted the referee to wave the fight off.

Grant Neal (4-0) earned an unanimous decision win over Hamza Salim (5-3) in a one-sided light heavyweight bout.

Valerie Loureda (3-0) grounded and pounded her way to a TKO win over Tara Graff (1-2) at 5:00 in the second round of a flyweight fight.

Cris Lencioni (7-2) earned defeated AJ Agazarm (3-2) through a unanimous decision that the latter apparently did not agree with. Agazarm, who demonstrated real aggression with his ground game during the featherweight fight, refused to shake Lencioni's hand afterward. The judges scored it 30-27, 30-26 and 29-28.

Adam Borics (15-1) earned a split decision win over Mike Hamel (7-4). The judges scored the contracted 150-pound fight bout 29-28, 28-29 and 29-28.
